Nations Skate Youth Indigenous Peoples Day 2022 celebration.

On June 21st, Nations Skate Youth is celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day and Go Skateboarding Day at @britanniacourts

We are excited to bring the youth and community together to honour our culture, traditions and language that make us who we are. Everyday is a good day to be Indigenous and June 21st will be an extra special day.

Indigenous youth will have the opportunity to set up their very own skateboard, bead with others and custom paint their own pair of Vans.

Come dance it up with Indigenous DJs @sot4 and @heyitsmynxy also a live performance by the one and only @jbthefirstlady 🙌🏽🧡

@mrbannockfood will be providing dinner we are grateful as he takes a lot of pride and joy in sharing Indigenous-fusion cuisine, using traditional ingredients from the Squamish First Nation.

We will have local Indigenous businesses on site so let’s support them and show them some love.

This event is on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəəm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Nations Skate Youth would like to acknowledge the support of: The Vans Checkerboard Fund, a fund of Tides Foundation for helping make this day be extra deadly. Thank you Cynthia from @britanniacentre for welcoming us with open arms to host our event at the courts. See you there. Hai Hai, Kukwstsétsemc, Mähsį Cho.
